Homelessness Report Part 1

I just wanted to say that getting help here in N.E.Texas is near impossible. I am a single mom and because my son is a teenager we are having trouble finding help from shelters. It is not fair for them to discriminate against boys just due to their age. If I had a girl, there would be no problem. When you contact the housing authority for gregg county, they say they are helping seniors and the disabled only. And if you can find other counties to apply to the waiting list is years long. It is a no win situation.

My name is Samantha, I'm 20 years old and currently homeless. I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan and i have held a couple different jobs in the past few months. It's very hard to find employment here and keep a job as well. Good things happen to good people all the time, but i never thought i would be among that group of people. There aren't any available rooms at any shelters, in fact just last night i slept in an abandoned house.

My husband and i have been homeless for 3 months. I am disabled and he works every chance he gets. There r hardly any shelters for married ppl unless u have children. I use to volunteer for the salvation army but they dont have a heart either. A person does good just to get a blanket from them. Seems like the only ppl who want to help r other homeless ppl. I wish each and every person who reads this Gods blessings.

I am a single mother of 3, unemployed with an income of $670 monthly, my rent is $653 and I also have to maintain the utility bills in the house and what else is needed in the home. In desperate need of some help, it seems as if some people that doesnt really need the help gets it and the ones that really needs it dont. Can anyone help!!!
